Herbert and Arlene Schwab purchased the farmland on Route 31 in Gasport in 1952.  This land was later known as Schwab Farm.  They built a roadside stand on the main road shortly there after to sell their fresh produce.  Herbert and Arlene had ten children, three sons and seven daughters.  All ten children helped out on the farm as they grew up.  The work was never ending, from planting seeds to pulling weeds and picking the fresh fruits and vegetables to packing and selling them at their Farm Market.  We eventually went to area Farmers Markets to sell our produce.  As the children grew older and got married the grandchildren came and they also work on the farm.  We are a family owned business that raises many specialty fruits and vegetables.  In the past couple of years, we have added a deli and bakery, along with many other specialty items.

After 50 years the second generation took over; Kent, Sharon, and Donna.  We’re into our second year, and we’ve decided to have a website so we can sell our products world wide.  This way people can see what is available to them directly from our place.  One of the main purposes is the apple marketing.  There is a lot of new kinds to try and there is different storages to make apples available through out the year.  We plant new kinds every year and take older orchards out so we can make the varieties available to the customer.
